Statement on the Inclusion of Learners with Disabilities – GLAD-IDA statement at Conference on Education Data and Statistics supports use of Child Functioning Module
At the first Conference on Education Data and Statistics, held 7-9 February 2024 and organized by UIS (UNESCO Institute for Statistics), a joint statement by the Global Action on Disability (GLAD) Network and the International Disability Alliance was made that endorses the vital importance of including learners with disabilities in education data and statistics. The conference was attended by member states’ experts from ministries, assessment agencies, and statistical offices who are involved in the generation and use of comparable data on SDG 4. The statement encourages countries to use the Child Functioning Module (CFM), the CFM – Teacher Version, and the Inclusive Education Module – tools developed by the Washington Group and UNICEF – to foster inclusive statistics on children, which will help fulfil the right of every child to a quality education.
