Recording Now Available: WG Webinar on Citizen-Generated Data and Persons with Disabilities
The WG hosted Elizabeth Lockwood and José Viera for a virtual webinar on citizen-generated data on 28 February 2024.
A recording of the webinar is now available.
Persons with disabilities are one of the most marginalized and excluded groups in society and face countless barriers globally, yet lack of data on the barriers and enablers of persons with disabilities remains. One way to address this is the wider recognition of citizen-generated data, including data efforts led by organizations of persons with disabilities, to complement official statistics to address critical data gaps.
This webinar provided (1) an overview of citizen-generated data and stakeholder collaborations and (2) case studies on how organizations of persons with disabilities and allies have led data design, collection, management, and use to fill critical data gaps on the experiences of persons with disabilities to complement official statistics.
